International Day of Cooperatives is celebrated on the first Saturday of July every year. The United Nations first celebrated Cooperative Day in 2005. While the International Co-operative Alliance goes back to 1923. To observe the day the movement coordinated by the Cooperative Division observe a week of activities.
On Saturday July 3, 2021 International Day of Cooperatives was celebrated around world under there “Rebuild better together”. This year, it’s an opportunity for cooperatives everywhere to lift up how they are meeting the COVID 19 crisis with solidarity and resilience and offering communities a people centered and environmentally just recovery. The Cooperative Movement of Dominica have been observing a week of activities in observance of the day since 1995.
Activities include:
- Outreach in the Kalinago Territory
- Cooperative the Koudmen Spirit Radio Program launched.
