Janae Jackson wins IYC Theme Song Competition

The Cooperative Movement launched its Theme Song Competition in celebration of International Year of Cooperatives in October, 2011. Individuals and groups were urged to submit songs based on the theme "Encouraging Entrepreneurship through Cooperatives".

Ms. Janae Jackson of the Convent High School emerged the winner where she won a grand prize of $1500.00 and a studio recording of the song.Theme Song Winner

Mr. Denzel Jervier of the Dominica Grammar School came in second place.

All entries were reviewed by a panel of judges and at a later date the three (3) top entries were played on Kairi FM where listeners had a chance to vote.

Ms. Jackson received her prize at the IYC Official Launch held at the Fort Young Hotel in December by the Honourable Gloria Shillingford, Minister for Social Services, Community Development & Gender Affairs.
